Apple and cranberry sauce

The ultimate fusion sauce, combining plump cranberries with delicious Kanzi apples. This sauce is the perfect accompaniment to your roast turkey as well as your baked gammon on Christmas Day!

Apple and cranberry sauce
What do you need?
for six to eight servings:
500g fresh cranberries or frozen ones, thawed
2 Kanzi apples, peeled, cored and cut into chunks
150g golden caster sugar
1 cinnamon stick

Preparation:
Preheat your oven to 190ºC/375ºF/gas 5. Place all the ingredients in a wide saucepan and add a splash of water. Put the pan on the heat and bring to the boil. Simmer gently until the cranberries have burst and the apple has softened. Boil down until the mixture thickens slightly, then take off the heat and leave to cool.

Tip:
Stored in an air-tight sterilised jar, this makes a lovely home-made Christmas gift.
